ABOUT

Catherine graduated from the University of Washington in 2013 with a Bachelor’s degree in American Ethnic Studies, along with two minors in both Diversity and Dance. While a student, Catherine was an athlete for the Huskies from 2008-2013. She earned a 5-year athletic scholarship and was the face of the university and represented her school with pride and courage. During this time, she travelled around the world to compete and showcase her twirling and dance skills. In 2020, Catherine earned a Master’s degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University. Catherine has recently taken her career passion to the next level, and has relocated to Cape Coral, Florida, where she will be furthering her career as a High School Athletic Director!

Catherine is an accomplished choreographer, coach, mentor, judge, official staff member, and contest director for the National Baton Twirling Association (NBTA). Along with this work, she thrives on coaching and developing her own team, Tide Baton Twirling, a competitive youth twirling organization for individuals and teams. In addition to Tide, she continues to work as one of the coaches of the Las Vegas MOB Twirling Group, of Las Vegas, Nevada. While in Southern California, Catherine was the twirling coach and advisor for the San Diego State University Marching Aztecs, for 6 years.  She was a very accomplished collegiate coach at SDSU, and her teams and programs there were nationally recognized and acclaimed. For more information on each of Catherine’s teams, visit their respective websites at tidebatontwirling.com and thelasvegasmob.com.

While an elite competitive athlete, Catherine was a two-time USA World Team member, winning a gold medal at the 2006 World Championships in Eindhoven, Netherlands in the Junior Women's Pairs category, and winning a silver medal in 2012 in Neuchâtel, Switzerland in the Senior Women's X-Strutting category. Catherine also achieved the highest honor in collegiate competitive twirling, winning the 2011 College Miss Majorette of America!  She was proud to bring that award home to The University of Washington and the Husky Marching Band! As a collegian, Catherine was honored to perform with the Huskies in China, France, Italy, Switzerland and on a cruise ship in the Caribbean and Cozumel!

Now let’s get into a team very close to Catherine’s heart, the Seattle Seahawks! She had the amazing privilege of performing half-time shows in 2014 and 2015, during their play-off runs for the Super Bowl! Catherine is also excited to share that she had the honor of performing multiple years on the red carpet for the Hollywood Christmas Parade; along with several nationally-televised commercials in both live and edited productions.

At the young age of sixteen, Catherine was one of only eight baton twirlers from across the nation invited to perform with Lions Club International at The Festival de la Primavera in both Trujillo and Lima, Peru. There, she served as an American Ambassador while giving her all in performances to help raise money for orphanages and hospitals in the area. This incredible experience gave her a deep love for serving and volunteering to give back to her community and to those in need.
